Worth the Hype - REAL TECHNIQUES

When I first heard of the Real Techniques brushes, I didn't think much of it. Sure the entire internet was going absolutely crazy over them, and they were reasonably priced, but I didn't really need them, did I?

Well I cracked. About two months ago I spotted the Core Collection at my local Boots and well.... That was that. I spent about a week deciding whether they were worth the price tag, but after inspecting them in person there was no denying, even at first glance, that they were great quality.

First things first, despite having specific names and uses printed on them, I've found that all of these brushes are definitely multi-use. All of them are great quality and really do the job for whatever you need them to, however I found that the real star was the buffing brush.

If you've ever read my blog before, you'll know that I'm completely obsessed with my Urban Decay Optical Blurring Brush, and I never thought anything could replace it. It was a revelation that a brush could make my boring old foundation look so airbrushed! Now I'm not saying the Real Techniques buffing brush is better, but it's definitely on par. Such great density, yet when washed it dries incredibly quickly! It's an absolute dream to use. Not only is it great for buffing in foundation, but I find myself using it for precision when applying my Rimmel Stay Matte powder on those occasions where I've returned to my trusty Urban Decay.

So, that's that. Fantastic quality, even better pricing, so easy to use, what's not to love? Do you need the whole collection? I'm not so sure. It really depends on your specific needs. Either way, they're great brushes, and definitely worth the investment.

The Real Techniques Core Collection is currently available from for 28.99.
