Review | Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer

With September flying by already, and the days getting colder and colder, I thought it was a good time to start looking toward winter skincare products. Moisturiser is definitely something that can be adapted as the seasons change, as skin tends to become drier due to cold weather or harsh winds, so it may be worth switching up your routine depending on your skin type. I personally tend to have quite dry skin that does get emphasised during the winter months, so I do look for something that little bit heavier. Today I'm going to be reviewing one of my favourite products to give my skin a moisture hit, and that's Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer.

The Details

The product is described as being a "light and effective" moisturiser that leaves the skin feeling "soft and nurtured". The labelling states that it is readily absorbed into the skin and that the moisturising effects are continued beneath the surface layers of the skin.

The product is definitely light, it's quite a liquid texture (by liquid I mean lighter than most moisturisers), yet still feels incredibly moisturising on the skin. I usually look towards heavier, thicker creams for a better impact on the skin but this really does what it says despite being lightweight. It does have a more oily feel to it than my other moisturisers, and due to this it seems to leave a slight residue (like a dewy look) on the skin, though it doesn't bother me at all. It leaves the skin very soft, as promised, and the effects do last. My makeup applies perfectly over it, and my skin is left looking hydrated and soothed.

Is it Worth the Buy?

If you're looking for an effective every-day moisturiser for dry or combination/dry skin, then yes. If you're leaning more toward oily skin or combination/oily then maybe not. It's quite good value as the bottle will last you absolutely ages, since you really only need the tiniest amount at a time. One thing to note is that the formula contains parabens so if you're trying to avoid them, this may not be a good product for you. Other than that, I've found that it's a great moisturiser for my dry skin days that I'll definitely be using into the winter months.
